Books have not only allowed me to expand my mind but honestly, they’ve allowed me to expand my consciousness, my spirituality, my skillsets, my education, and also, they have helped me get through darker periods of my life and also just enjoy regular life more. This is because books allow you to get submerged in beautiful fictional worlds, understand different people’s perspectives and just make me enjoy writing so much. So, my love for books is most likely evident at this point! Without further ado, these are some of my all-time favorite fiction books that can keep you entertained and sane.
- “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” by Stieg Larsson
This book is a mystery crime and thriller which is usually the genre I don’t really go for. But I just loved this book. It was thrilling and enthralling and I really loved the way Larsson wrote it. It was very detail-oriented and really kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book. There are subtle storylines that weaved throughout the plot and made it very enticing throughout. Overall, it was a gripping book and I loved it from the beginning to end.
- “Dracula” by Bram Stoker
I love Gothic literature a lot. I love the atmosphere it creates that is elegant but mysterious and a lit bit poetic. When you read Gothic novels, they can be a bit denser and poetic in their nature but ‘Dracula’ is more straightforward in its storytelling which allows you to just get enveloped by its atmosphere quite easily. If you wish to buy such awesome reads for yourself, TrueGether, a Shopify alternative, is your place to be!
- “The Picture of Dorian Gray” by Oscar Wilde
This is undoubtedly my favorite classic book. I would admit it is very poetic in the way it is read but being a poetry lover, I thoroughly enjoyed it because it added to the elegance of the novel along with some dark undertones. It also has a message throughout which I really like. The actual storyline just develops so beautifully and as it builds, it becomes darker and more gruesome and goes places you would not expect. I would say this book is a piece of art! It is not going to be an easy read but it is definitely going to be worth it!
- “Rich Dad Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki
For the longest time, I thought this book would be a very dense, uninspiring, and unenjoyable read but it turned out it was the opposite of all those things. On the back cover, it says “The number one personal finance book of all time.” The writing style of this book is quite conversational which made its readability very enjoyable. It felt like I was having a conversation directly with Kiyosaki and he was talking to me. He had the power to explain complex topics in a very simple way that made them enjoyable and easy to read. This book was incredibly inspiring and motivating. One of its quotations says “Never say ‘I can’t afford it’ instead say ‘how can I afford it?’.”
So, these were some of my all-time favorite reads. I am definite that you too will enjoy reading them and make them your favorites, just like me!
