Every day, morning comes with a new ray of hope, calmness, freshness, and desire to achieve something we long for. In today’s blog, I’ll be sharing ten self-care ideas that, if you guys resonate with, can be included in your daily morning routine to kick start your morning with a calm and relaxed mind. You know when you think of self-care, it’s more than just our physical health. It’s not just eating healthy anymore. The lives around us and our lives are moving so fast these days that you need to indulge in self-care, slow down, take a step back, and tune in to your own thoughts, your own mind, and just relax to calm yourself down.
1. Don’t Reach Out for Your Phone Right Away
One must not reach out to their phone as soon as they get up. Now, I know most of us do that but I’ll give you two major reasons why you should not:
- When you check your phone immediately when you wake up, you are flooded with new emails, messages, and to-do lists which creates a sense of stress and anxiety.
- It hijacks your time. What starts off as five minutes on social media turns to 15 or 30 and before you know it, you are rushing to make it on time for work and starting your day in a very stressful and hurried manner.
2. Curate a Morning Playlist
Now, this is my favorite part! Playing the right music can totally change your morning around. If you’re not sure what music to pick, Spotify has tons of morning playlists that you can tune into.
3. Gratitude Journaling
Studies have actually shown that expressing gratitude is strongly related to greater happiness. Try jotting down a few things that you are grateful for every morning. Now, these don’t have to be big things. They can be as small as spending time with your family over a night, board games, or being able to eat your favorite ice cream.
4. Do Something Fun & Creative

What makes you feel the best? Is it a morning shower? Is it indulging in some skincare? Choose something that makes you feel good inside out. 7. Hydrate Yourself

Knocking something off your to-do list could be something as simple as organizing your desk, your bookshelf, or doing your laundry. Kicking this off your to-do list will give you a kickstart to the rest of your day.
Start your day with some yoga, meditation, or any form of exercise. Do any physical activity that energizes you and motivates you to start your day on a high note. It could also be hitting the gym. Physical activities stimulate the brain chemicals that make you feel happier and relaxed.
10. Practice Waking Up Early
This is something easier said than done. But starting off your day maybe 15 minutes earlier than your usual time will help you sort of develop a habit to start waking up early. And trust me, in no time you will be waking up with the sunrise.
